Nadine's Story

1990
At the age of 12, Nadine starts to develop pimples.
1990-94
With her skin becoming worse during puberty, Nadine tries a number of supermarket and pharmacy products to clear her acne, with no success.
1995-96
When her skin became worse at the age of 17, Nadine sought help from her family doctor. She tried various prescription medications, without relief.
1997-99
Nadine is referred to a dermatologist, who prescribed a popular
prescription drug. Unfortunately the drug caused many side effects,
including:
-Extremely dry skin
-Cracked and bleeding lips
-Severe ingrown toenails
-Recurring eye infections
-Nose bleeds
and ultimately made Nadine’s skin even worse.
1999
Nadine graduates from the University of Technology, Sydney, with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science
2000-03
During this period, Nadine’s skin was so bad that desperation got the better of her. She resorted to applying 10% benzoyl peroxide cream to her face every night, leaving her skin red, dry and
irritated. This to some extent controlled the breakouts, so she continued using the cream as it was the only option she had.
2004
Nadine enrolled in Master of Herbal Medicines at the University of Sydney.
Jan 2004
Nadine stumbled upon a clinical paper that showed Vitamin B3, applied topically, can be as effective as a popular topical prescription medication.
May 2004
Nadine commences formulating and experimenting with different Vitamin B3 topical formulations.
Aug 2004
With the guidance of her mentor, a research pharmacist, and her own passion for finding a solution, Nadine created PuraSkin Acne Clearing Gel.
Feb 2005
Once the product had been developed, Nadine naturally wanted to use it to clear up her own acne so she tested PuraSkin Acne Clearing Gel on the right side of her face and continued to use the benzoyl peroxide cream on the left. Nadine found that PuraSkin Acne Clearing Gel delivered the same acne reducing results as the benzoyl peroxide cream, without the dryness and irritation- a very encouraging result!
2005-06
Through her Herbal Medicine studies, Nadine came to realise that to treat acne effectively, an oral formula would also need to be developed to target the internal body mechanisms affecting acne. Nadine conducted further research into natural ingredients, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and their effects on skin; all the while consuming individual ingredients based on her research findings.
In addition to her interest in developing an oral formula, she also felt that it was necessary to develop a facial cleanser because she found that the acne facial cleansers available in the supermarkets and pharmacies were either not effective or were overly drying on her skin.
She then started to use all three products – PuraSkin Deep Derma Cleanser, PuraSkin Acne Clearning Gel and PuraSkin Inside-Out Skin Support capsules, noticing a dramatic improvement in her skin.
Following the dramatic improvement in her own skin, Nadine gave samples of PuraSkin to her family and friends who were suffering from acne. She received very positive feedback with family and friends continuing to come back asking for more.
